Points are scored for grid and finishing positions, number of laps completed, positions gained and a bonus to the driver with the fastest lap. The league table is updated as soon as possible after each Grand Prix and the history option allows Team Managers to analyse how their own team of drivers and constructors are performing race by race.

5 February 2012 - 2012 Season
Please check back shortly.
27 November 2011 - Brazilian Grand Prix
Lewis Hamilton ended his difficult season with a DNF and Jenson button became the first team mate of Lewis to beat him in the Driver's Championship.
Brazil was also a good day for Force India who finished 6th & 8th, with Sutil beating Mercedes Nico Rosberg in the process.
Despite going into the final race as favourite Big Not Fake couldn't quite get the job done.
An Awful Train Crash had saved his Random Driver bonus until the final race and with the extra 156 points scored by Sutil jumped up 8 spots from 9th to 1st and snatched the 2011 FRL Championship in the process. Click here to see how Train Crash did it. Brazil was the highest scoring race since Monaco with Mr Vice President taking the win with a Double Points assisted 2134, with SeanOnSlicks scoring the most without a bonus, managing 1075 points.
The FRL wishes to congratulate Train Crash and to thank everyone who took part, hopefully, we will see you all again in 2012. Registration will be open again sometime in February. In the meantime the 2011 results and these Drivers & Constructors statistics will remain online for you to analyse.
13 November 2011 - Abu Dhabi Grand Prix
Last year Vettel won his first F1 Driver's Championship after Webber & Alonso got stuck behind slower drivers and were unable to pass them. This year it was hoped double DRS zones would make passing possible and it did, but because the second zone was immediately after the first most drivers who made a pass were then immediately re-passed and the running order stayed the same. If you look at the top 9 only Fernardo Alonso actually made up any places, everybody else either retained their position or were only gifted a place by Vettel's retirement.
Last week The FRL predicted that Big Not Fake could still get into the fight for this year's FRL title and that's exactly what's happened, by playing it's double points bonus not only did Big Not Fake take the win in Abu Dhabi but has also taken the overall lead and must now be considered the favourite for the 2011 title.
30 October 2011 - Indian Grand Prix
Due to the late confirmation that the Indian Grand Prix would defintely take place Team Managers have been unable (for most of the season) to pick India for one of their bonus races, leaving BottomFeeder to take the easy win as the only Team to play the double points bonus, scoring a total of 1716 points. Formula John scored the most without a bonus managing 984 points.
We now have only 2 races left in the 2011 season and things are still tight at the top of The FRL. Usually by this point it's fairly easy to pick a favourite, but things are a lot closer this year. Three of the top six teams still have a bonus to play which should close the small gap to Alfaowners and there are still a few teams led by Big Not Fake who have yet to play their double points bonus and could yet join the fight.
16 October 2011 - RIP Dan Wheldon
For many British F1 fans Dan Wheldon was a relatively unknown racing driver. However, he was one of the best British drivers of the current era. A former Indy Car champion and 2 time/current Indy 500 winner.Unfortunately, he died in a 15 car crash at the Las Vegas Speedway after being launched into the air at a speed of up to 225 miles per hour.
I have personally followed and supported Dan Wheldon since 2004 (and went absolutely crazy with joy when he came through, on the last corner of the race, to win this year's Indy 500) and feel the world of motorsport is a lesser place for his passing. My thoughts go out to his family and young children. Dan, we miss you.
16 October 2011 - Korean Grand Prix
Aviva took the Korean win in The FRL after doubling 947 points and moving up 495 places overall. The lanemans goes racing scored the most points (977) without a bonus.
With Just 3 races left The FRL championship looks like being a close run thing and will certainly go to the final race in Brazil.
9 October 2011 - Japanese Grand Prix
Talking of back to back championships has anyone else noticed a certain HobdayMotors is now in 5th place overall with the Pole Sitter bonus still left to play and is second if we remove the bonuses altogether. Surely he can't make it 3 championships on the trot. If anyone can stop him my favourites would be An Awful Train Crash and The Wapplers who both still also have a bonus to play.
The FRL Japanese winner was Hyundai who scored 1902 points after playing the double point’s bonus. While Hirvonens World Rally Team and Do Not Forget Kubica shared the most points scored without a bonus, both scoring 987.
25 September 2011 - Singapore Grand Prix
Hamilton earned another drive through for an avoidable accident when he ran into the rear of Massa, which developed further during the post race interviews when Massa confronted Lewis and sarcastically thanked him for the "good job" he did. With Massa possibly struggling to retain his Ferrari drive his frustrations with Lewis came out for all to see.
Rowlando Butterflies took The FRL win by doubling 967 points, while SEFT scored the most points without a bonus with 1015. There were no changes in the overall top 5 with Alfaowners leading the way by 104 points. However, an awful train crash still has the Random Driver bonus to play and leads the way if all bonuses are removed.
Unlike the Formula 1 driver's championship The FRL title will almost certainly go to the last race of the season and is probably going to the fought between the current top 6 teams; Alfaowners, An Awful Train Crash, Fredlet Ferraris, FisfasterthenU, Booth Family and HodbayMotors.
11 September 2011 - Italian Grand Prix
Hamilton spent the first third of the race stuck behind a weaving Schumacher and despite DRS & KERS was unable to get by, however, his team-mate Jenson Button managed to pass him after a couple of corners, take second and now leads Lewis in the Driver's Championship.
Benny's Last Hope took The FRL win with a double points assisted 1878 points with the lanemans goes racing scoring the most points without a bonus, 967.
With 6 races to go the F1 title is all but decided with only an act of God likely to stop Vettel now, however, in The FRL things are a lot closer with Alfaowners leading the way. If we were to remove the bonuses the Top 5 are separated by less than 100 points. It seems that this year HobdayMotors has challengers to his title.
28 August 2011 - Belgium Grand Prix
Despite the lack of laps at Spa (only 44) 76 Team Managers still used their double point’s bonus. MS scored the most but must feel a little let down with 1768 points. No one managed to pass the 1000 mark without using a bonus and only 3 Team Managers scored over 900, 200OK (914), El Capitan (910) & Yurios (909).
31 July 2011 - Hungarian Grand Prix
Despite it being 3 races since his last victory Sebastian Vettel was the real winner in Hungary as he once again extended his championship lead after finishing in second place ahead of his nearest championship rivals.
SEFT took the FRL win after doubling a handy 1031 points although Kubicas right hand man and jokerit2 managed to better that with 1078 points before any bonuses were added.
F1 is now on its mandatory 4 weeks summer break and doesn't return until the 28th August, giving all the UK fans plenty of time to decide whether they will continue watching F1 in 2012 after the BBC decided to "share" F1 with Pay TV provider Sky.
24 July 2011 - German Grand Prix
Polecats took the FRL win after doubling 983 points, although 4 teams managed more points before bonuses were added with Vickys Hot Wheels scoring the most.
With the season at the halfway mark An Awful Train Crash leads the way overall and if we remove all bonuses this position is retained, making Train Crash the favourite leading into the second half of the season. For those Team Managers with changes left now, rather than later, might be the best time to use them before the number of races start to run out.
10 July 2011 - British Grand Prix
Despite Silverstone having the second fewest laps on the F1 calendar 86 Team Managers played their double points bonus, with the aptly named "Fernando is faster than you" taking the FRL win with 1888 points, while Cregan Boys Racing scored the most (981 points) without a bonus.
26 June 2011 - European Grand Prix
Valencia was a low scoring race for The FRL with no Team Managers managing to score more than 3 figures (before bonuses). Taxi Would Be Quicker used it's double points bonus to take the Spanish win, but it was Viking who managed the most points without a bonus.
Just as Vettel looks to continue his domination of F1, has anyone else noticed who is once again hanging around The FRL's top 10? None other than the winner of the last 2 FRL championships; HobdayMotors.
12 June 2011 - Canadian Grand Prix
Despite the changeable weather conditions, red flag, & safety cars 60 FRL Team Managers still managed to score over 1000 points. Team Joy with 1087 points and the Booth Family doubling 1040 to take the overall Canadian win with 2080.
10 June 2011 - Sergio Perez to miss the Canadian Grand Prix
All Team Managers who have Perez as one of their drivers will automatically receive the points scored by Pedro de la Rosa and need to make no changes themselves.
4 June 2011 - Bahrain Grand Prix Reinstated?
In order to ensure this typical F1 confusion doesn't have any effect on The FRL - team managers will remain unable to select either Bahrain or India as a bonus race.
29 May 2011 - Monaco Grand Prix
Talking of Button's team mate, Lewis Hamilton spent most of Sunday acting like a chav, rather than a former F1 champion. He caused 2 drivers to crash out of the race and followed this up with a post race rant. If he wants to be remembered as a F1 great, he really needs to stop acting like a spoiled brat when things aren't going his way.
Despite Monaco's reputation for safety cars and crashes 104 FRL team managers rolled the dice and gambled their double point’s bonus. With 78 laps Monaco can delivery big points but one crash can ruin a team manager’s race and possibly their season (if their double points bonus fails to deliver). Yet Go4it2 took the gamble and it paid off with a score of 2184 points, although carelly gp may have wished it had took the same gamble after scoring the most points (1122) without a bonus.
For those of you with an interest in motor racing outside of F1, The FRL wishes to congratulate Dan Wheldon on his second Indy 500 win after one of the best finishes to a motor race seen in a long time.
22 May 2011 - Spanish Grand Prix
Vettel took his 4th win of the season but was pushed to the limit by Hamilton. Webber hoped to regain some momentum after taking pole position ahead of his team mate (who was without KERS) but come the race Webber once again had to play second fiddle. Button’s 3 stop strategy worked better than it had in Turkey, this time capturing the last podium position. Everyone else was lapped, including the fast starting Alonso.
Miturbofullondi doubled a handy 1046 points to take The FRL win, although Tcar scored 20 more points before any bonuses were added.
All_team_no_knickers has taken the early overall lead, but has already used all of its bonuses. I imagine it'll be very difficult to retain that lead the rest of the season, but it's not when you play your bonuses that counts, but how much they add to your score, so who knows.
8 May 2011 - Turkish Grand Prix
Turkey gave us another feast of action thanks to the combined results of DRS, KERS & tyre degradation. In previous years a dominant drive from Pole to Chequered flag would have been called boring, but with so much going on behind Vettel there was rarely a time when something wasn't happening in order to keep our interest.
Alonso & Ferrari took a step forward, Hamilton & McLaren took a step backwards, Vettel & Red Bull continues to look almost unbeatable. If the other teams don't come up with something quick only the occasional strategy call is going to stop Vettel winning race after race.
All_team_no_knickers took the double points assisted win (and 2nd overall) in The FRL, while Frosty Racing was the only team to achieve 1000+ points before any bonuses were applied.
17 April 2011 - Chinese Grand Prix
Vettel & Red Bull's strangle hold on the 2011 championship was ended by Lewis Hamilton after McLaren used a 3 stop strategy to counter Red Bull's 2 stop, although Webber's driver from 18th to 3rd (aided by some fresh tyres) showed just what speed the Red Bull has when it isn't compromised by worn tyres.
Massa had some return to form, but was also compromised by a 2 stop strategy, while Mercedes finally showed some of the speed it had at the end of pre-season practice.
The first race of The FRL's championship (after practice concluded in Malaysia) was won by CSS with a double points assisted 1912 points, although the most points without a bonus (970) was scored by Fisfasterthan U.
Don't forget all Team Managers are now restricted to a maximum of 5 changes, per team, for the remainder of the season.
10 April 2011 - Malaysian Grand Prix
The Malaysian Grand Prix was a pretty entertaining race, the new DRS system was more effective than in Australia (thanks to the longer straights) and the Pirelli tyres once again achieved their aim of spicing up the action.
After a great start to the season Petrov decided to take up a new hobby, flying. Yet, Renault still scored their second podium on the trot with Heidfeld. With the right development and an assassination of Sebastian Vettel, Renault could yet sneak a win in 2011.
The FRL's practice session came to a close with the Malaysian Grand Prix (although it was cut short by the absence of Bahrain). During the race weekend of China all FRL's scores will be reset to zero except for Sunday Drivers, Lunch Control & The Sportsman who will start the season proper with 150, 100 & 50 bonus points respectively.
The Sportsman achieved his 50 bonus points with the Malaysian race win scoring 994 points in the process.
The unlimited changes will stay in place until the Friday of the Chinese Grand Prix after which all Team Managers will only be allowed to make a further 5 changes, so make those final tweaks now.
27 March 2011 - Australian Grand Prix
Of the race itself, The FRL had the following thoughts :
- The DRS system was a bit of a let down with the new, less durable, Pirelli tyres making more of an improvement to racing by increasing the number of pit stops and causing drivers to use different strategies to others.
Congratulations go to rookies Paul di Resta and especially Sergio Perez for impressive debuts. With a big well done to Vitaly Petrov for taking the ball (given to him by Kubica's absence) and running with it.
Last years new boys (Lotus, HRT & Virgin) haven't taken the step forward they probably hoped for, although Team Lotus looks to have pulled away from Virgin, but not by enough to yet get on the tails of the established teams.
Jenson Button deserves a slap for not letting Massa back through after passing him by cutting the corner. As with Alonso last year, if you take a position by short cutting the circuit you will get a drive through penalty if you don't let your opponent back through. Why McLaren weren't screaming at him to let Massa back through is beyond me. Even losing the position to Alonso as well isn't as bad as losing the 20-30 seconds a drive through costs.
Sebastian Vettel is going to take some beating.
With the cancellation of Bahrain The FRL's practice session (when unlimited changes are allowed) will only last 2 races and so Malaysia, in 2 weeks time, will decide who starts the championship proper in pole position with a bonus of 150 points.
26 March 2011 - The 107% Rule
Any Team Managers who have picked either Liuzzi or Karthikeyan will not completely miss out as The FRL will score them as if they qualified 23rd & 24th and then finished the race 23rd & 24th (although completing 0 laps). Likewise HRT will score constructor points for "finishing" the race 12th.
The FRL's advise to any Team Manager who has picked HRT or one of it's drivers would be to replace them ASAP.
24 March 2011 - Start Of The 2011 Season
The FRL would, therefore, like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has joined The FRL for it's 7th season and to wish all Team Managers good luck in their attempts to stop HobdayMotors from claiming a 3rd successive title.
Don't forget FRL points are not assigned immediately after the completion of each race but only after the FIA has made the results official (a process that can take a number of hours if there are a lot of incidents to be investigated after the race) and more importantly not until "Admin" has personally watched the race, thank you for your patience.
9 March 2011 - Formula 1 Driver Lineup Complete
24 February 2011 - Bahrain GP Cancelled : The FRL's Practice Sesssion Reduced
All bonus points, for the top 3 Team Managers at the end of the Practice Session will remain the same.
14 February 2011 - Service Unavailable
It never rains, but it pours! Firstly, the mini-league's database got corrupted, then an issue arises with Internet Explorer and now the website is experiencing "Service Unavailable" messages. After contacting the hosting company it appears The FRL is exceeding a maximum app pool setting causing the system to recycle (which is when the Service Unavailable message appears).
Hopefully, the above won't put anyone off playing this season and if you do experience the "service unavailable" message, please have a little patience (the reset only lasts around 30 seconds) and then hit F5 to refresh your page.
Once again, The FRL apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused you and hopes you still choose to play The FRL in 2011.
14 February 2011 - Internet Explorer Bug
Some people seem to be experiencing a problem when trying to pick their drivers. It currently appears to be a problem with Internet Explorer only and one that affects only some people and not others.
Unfortunately, this problem isn't affecting any version of Internet Explorer The FRL has access to which is making it difficult to diagnose the actual problem. However, in the mean time this work around appears to be helping. "If you click on the right hand side of the drop down list (as you would normally do) nothing happens. So instead, when selecting your drivers, click on the left hand side of the drop down list (more or less on the letters "Noth" of the Nothing Selected wording) and then the drop down list should display/work. "
The FRL is sorry for any inconvenience this may be causing anybody and as soon as a version of Internet Explorer can be found where this is happening a fix will hopefully be discovered.
13 February 2011 - Mini-Leagues Apology
12 February 2011 - Registration Now Open
As will be clear to see The FRL has had another face lift, but apart from that things are much the same as 2010. The Practice Session will, once again, be 3 races long, however due to the increased Formula 1 season the FRL's Racing Season (will this year) consist of 17 races.
HRT are yet to confirm their second driver & Kubica's unfortunate accident means Renault are also a man short, although, it seems likely Nick Heidfeld will get that drive, however, only when this is officially announced will FRL Managers be able to pick Nick as one of their drivers.
The Indian Grand Prix is still subject to FIA approval and in the short term FRL Managers will also be unable to pick India for one of their bonus races.
So, with only a month to go (until the first race in Bahrain) The FRL is now open, pick your teams today. Anyone who played in 2010 will still be able to use their login and password from last season, there is no need to register a new, however, if you are new to The FRL please give the rules a quick read first.
For further information about The FRL in 2011 please see the relevant post in the forum.
29 January 2011 - New Season Fast Approaching
With only HRT to annouce it's final driver The FRL will open in a couple of weeks time. Anyone who played The FRL in 2010 or has indicated an interest in playing in 2011 will automatically receive an email as soon as registration is open.
